Chad Smith was at the premiere of the ‘Glen Campbell: I’ll Be Me’ movie that documents Glen Campbell’s final tour after the musician was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease. The premiere was held at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood on the 11th November, 2014. In the video clip, Chad explains that he wanted to be involved in the project because he grew up listening to Glen Campbell’s music as his own father was a big fan and that his father sadly passed away from Alzheimer’s himself, making the connection even more poignant.
In another piece of news, it’s been announced that Chad will attend the Mary Chapa Academy in Greenfield, California on Thursday as part of the Turnaround Arts program (part of the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities). The school is one of 35 schools in the US to be chosen for the project which identified schools that were deemed to need additional resources in order to help improve the overall educational experience of the pupils they taught. Chad will be speaking to the pupils and delivering art supplies and musical instruments. Source
