Triple M Flea and Josh Klinghoffer Interview

EXCLUSIVE: Red Hot Chili Peppers World Tour Will Include Australia, Says Flea

Following the exciting announcement of album No. 10 from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, bass player Flea says the band are doing a world tour that will definitely include Australia.

As you can hear in the video below, Triple M’s Higgo caught up with Flea, who is celebrating nearly 30 years as a Chili Pepper, and new guitarist Josh Klinghoffer ahead of the release of their first single, “The Adventures Of Raindance Maggie” and asked them their Aussie tour plans.

“I think some point in 2012,” said Josh, before Flea jumped in saying “We’re not ready to announce shows yet because we’ll probably get beat over the head with sledgehammers by our managers if we say the date but we are doing a whole world tour and Australia is in the plans.”

If it was the beginning of 2012 could there be a Big Day Out appearance, possibly?

“I don’t know if we’re doing that or what we’re doing but we’re coming to play Australia for sure and we can’t wait to get there. [We’re] looking forward to it,” Flea reiterated.

Of course, the Melbourne-born Flea says Australia will always be close to his heart.

“I love Australia with my heart and Australian blood coarses through my veins.”

The Red Hot Chili Peppers first single, “The Adventures Of Raindance Maggie” is out July 18th, while the new album, I’m With You will be out August 30.
