Chad Smith’s Superbowl Drum Kit

On 2nd February, 2014, the Red Hot Chili Peppers played during the half-time show of the Pepsi Super Bowl XLVIII after being invited by Bruno Mars to join him on the set.  For the occasion, Chad Smith played a custom built drum set that was designed by Pearl which featured the logos of the teams. The clear Plexiglas Pearl drum set had a custom Wrap material provided by the Brand Imaging Group together with a lighting package provided by Drumlite.

Following the performance. the drum set was broken up into two kits (an AFC kit & a NFC kit) which were auctioned for the Make-a-Wish charity. Both kits featured all of their respective conference team logos and were made up of:

  • Floor Tom 16 X 16 inches

  • 20 inch RHCP Crash
  • 19 inch Chad Smith Holy China

The closing bids were:

AFC kit – $12,575

NFC kit – $24,297
