FLEAS on the London Underground are a very rare problem. In fact, this is the first time ever one has been snapped there.
Red Hot Chili Peppers have been in residence at the O2 in southeast London and bassist Flea opted for public transport to get to the gig.
Speaking to the 17,000 fans at the sold-out show he said: “I came here on the Jubilee Line tonight and no one noticed.”
It’s not quite panto season yet, but oh yes they did.
The band played a blistering set including Under The Bridge, Give It Away, Can’t Stop and Californication.
I can’t wait to see them here next summer at Knebworth and Sunderland. Then you might find a Flea in a private jet between gigs.
Addition: I was at the concert and was going to include this in my review (will get online with one from Monday night plus the 150+ photos I took on Thursday hopefully later today; if not it will be tomorrow).
Flea mentioned that he caught the 5 o’clock train from Bond Street and went on the Jubilee line to the O2 Arena; he was complaining there were no RHCP fans there to greet him and keep him company! I caught the same train about 4.50…argh! lol
