This just in! Red Hot Chili Peppers are set to headline the 18th edition of MTV’s Europe Music Awards in Belfast next month. For the first time ever, the event will be broadcasted from three separate locations. It is not clear at which one the band will perform, but the updates should be posted shortly.
RHCP’s spokesperson was quoted as saying:
“We haven’t played in Belfast in a long time, so we’re really looking forward to performing at the ‘2011 MTV EMA’ and seeing all our fans.”
A little reminder: RHCP have never previously performed at this event or even appeared to receive the awards, which they have won multiple times. In 2000, Chad Smith appeared to receive the award on behalf of the entire band, all other times they would record video clips.
