RHCP To Play Sonisphere 2012? In Talks with Organisers

Are RHCP going to play Sonisphere next year? We know from Blackie Dammett’s posts on Facebook that they are discussing playing festivals here and the organizer of Sonisphere has stated to NME that they are in fact in talks with the band about appearing at the festival:

‘We’re talking to Red Hot Chili Peppers and Foo Fighters for 2012’ says Sonisphere organiser

Stuart Galbraith also names dates for next year’s Knebworth event

Sonisphere organiser Stuart Galbraith has said that the festival are in talks with both Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers, as well as a host of other acts, for headlliners of next year’s event.

Speaking at the official festival press conference, he also confirmed that the festival would be running over the weekend of July 6-8 in 2012 and that tickets for next year’s event would be going on sale on Wednesday (July 13), with prices capped at this year’s rates for a limited number of tickets.

Asked if he would consider booking either Foo Fighters or Red Hot Chili Peppers for 2012, he said: “They’re both two that we’re talking to, amongst a whole list of others. I also think we could have Green Day and Blink-182 here, but none of those are confirmed.”

About Squitherwitch

I've been a RHCP fan ever since I heard Under The Bridge way back in the mists of time. I brought BSSM and then their other albums but RHCP were just another band I listened to (I was a massive GNR fan at the time) but that changed once I heard Californication! I've been involved with the online RHCP scene since 2006, getting more heavily involved as time passed, and eventually the time was right to set up my own website dedicated to the band and thus, TheChiliSource was born. Since then I've also set up AnthonyKiedis.net along with various Twitter, Facebook & Tumblr pages connected to my websites and RHCP.
